Adam performing at BATS Bayfront theater

A brief summary on Adam

Adam Philip is a writer, stand-up comedian, and improviser from the Bay Area. After performing stand-up for the first time in his high school theater senior year, Adam knew he was not only capable but actually kind of good at making people laugh. From that point on Adam knew he wanted to make a career out of telling jokes.

After graduating from high school Adam went on to study film and digital media at the College of San Mateo, all while still writing new material for his act and working a full time job in retail to pay the bills. Once Adam earned two certificates of specialization from CSM, one for Digital Media Audio and Video production and one for Digital Media Broadcast and Electronic Media, Adam decided to focus all his free time on comedy. Adam began performing nightly at open mics San Francisco and taking ongoing improv classes at the bays longest running improv theater, BATS (Bay Area Theater Sports).

Having had the opportunity to perform at BATS’ theater and the nation famous San Francisco Punchline, Adam was ready to make the move to Los Angeles to pursue writing and comedy full time. And then Covid-19 happened, putting all of Adams dreams on hold.

Realizing that a job in the arts isn’t always guaranteed, and feeling uncomfortable with time and opportunity being wasted, Adam re-enrolled in school to pursue a degree in journalism, a degree and career that combines two of Adams favorite things, learning more about the world he lives in and story telling. With hopes set high Adam continues to expand his mind while patiently waiting to get back on stage.
